While the history of architecture goes back thousands of years, advances in the areas of material science and technology means there are vast areas of innovation and discovery ahead.I believe that new ways of thinking about architecture, and how we can use structures and space to advance ideals like inclusion and social connectivity, will lead to similar revolutions in design.
With these dynamic agents of change looming large, I view my education in architecture not so much as a process of skill acquisition, but as a means of exploration.What excites me about architecture is that it lies at the juncture of many disciplines. It incorporates essential aspects like design, structural systems and building technology, but also includes seemingly peripheral fields of study, like philosophy, political science, history, ecology, economics, urban planning and poetry. As an artistic and intellectually curious practitioner I see seemingly endless dimensions to examine.
